Product Details
| •A
newly made Snare Drum Beater for a Wurlitzer 104/105/125 Band
Organ. The Beater uses two Wurlitzer unit valve blocks and is
entirely vacuum operated. The valve blocks are custom made by
R.M.R and are the highest quality
reproduction Wurlitzer valves made today. The internal valve in
the block is made of leather and are adjustable like originals.
They are NOT made of Sponge Neoprene like other
companies. The valves are connected in such a way as to operate
alternately in rapid succession. So, as long as vacuum is
applied, the beater pneumatics collapse alternately, operated
by the music roll. These pneumatics are spring loaded also, but
in this case the spring holds the pneumatic open and the beater
away from the drum head when vacuum is not applied to the
pneumatic. A short burst of vacuum produces a single stroke of
the left beater and a long application of vacuum produces a drum
roll using both beaters. Center of Beater balls are 9 1/4" from
bottom of the base. Base is 7 1/4" wide with a 1/2" inlet. The
Pneumatics are covered with Medium Chrome Leather . The beater
unit is typically used with a 14” Snare Drum but can be used
with other dimensions. The vacuum to the Beater is typically
activated by a vacuum Actuating Block (not included) that
is connected to the tracker bar. Some applications differ.
I spend a great amount of time trying to build these
units with as much detail as possible. The main draw in my opinion
that attracts people to Band Organs, Nickelodeons or any other
Pneumatically ran musical instrument is watching the moving parts as
it plays and the Bass and Snare Drum Beaters are usually the main
instrument in view and are the most interesting ones to look at in
action. Keeping that in mind I build ALL my instruments as if they
where going to be my own. Using and finding the best materials
possible.90% of the lumber I use is hand picked Maple and all glue joints are
done with Hide Glue.
