Offering one of my most prized restorations, the Imhof & Mukle Orchestrion is now available. This instrument is in mint condition, thanks to a meticulous restoration process that I always uphold. The façade features real gold leaf, and every detail was handled with the utmost care. The restoration cost was approximately $34,000 at the time, and it’s currently being offered for $35,000, making it an excellent value. Full details are avalable below with videos at the bottom of the page. Will be updating on how many music books are included.
Imhof & Mukle 45 note 58 key Orchestrion model #6 Consisting of a 45 note piano, 12 bells, mandolin rail, bass & snare drum, Cymbal and
27 Violin pipes. Gold leafed & stained glass facade.
Below is the complete restoration process:
HAMMER ACTION- All new Hammer Butts where installed. They had to be modified to match the original.
Built a Capstan bar to adjust the "end play" of the jacks. THIS was a BIG over site that had snowballed in the previous restoration and made a very sloppy action. Its like taking the Capstan screws out of the back of a piano keys. The action just hangs. Because of this the pneumatics where made with to large of an opening to compensate for the extra movement that had to be made for the notes to play. (see details on picture) Normally for a note to play you need 3/8 to 1/2" of movement. As it was, it needed 7/8". Almost twice the movement. Now the action is back to regular regulation specs. All complete!
SIDE OF CASE- Joints on the sides where very weak and starting to separate. Joints where taken apart and re-glued.
